Hi!
My name is Siddiqah and I’m a content creator and animator! Most of my work revolves around video editing and social media management, but I’ve been venturing into character design and computer animation. I’ve created content for several companies while producing my own videos for social media to promote my jewelry brand and original artwork.

For my honors thesis for my final semester of undergrad at FAU, I produced this video to tell the story of my college experience as an only daughter to conservative parents. Inspired by my I’m Tired (2021) project, I used montage theory to build a narrative using clips from shows and movies and overlaid music from my favorite female artists. This video was produced in Premiere Pro and is accompanied by a paper analyzing my creative decisions such as why I chose certain pieces of dialogue to string together and why I focused on the challenges of certain iconic characters. I screen-recorded my material, spliced the dialogue, and arranged them to create a montage of characters talking to each other as my narrative unfolds. L and J cuts are included to make the dialogue more dynamic and to drive the theme of claiming independence as a South Asian female. I cropped each clip and adjusted the audio before I added instrumental music from the songs of some of my favorite female artists.
13th Grade (2023)
I animated 10 icons for the Lumen Technologies icon library. I was given the illustrations from the design team and corrected some shapes and layers in Adobe’s Illustrator before transferring them to After Effects. I produced different ideas for the movement of each icon and these are the final 10, 5 multi-colored and 5 single-colored. These icons will be used in future videos produced by the video team.

As part of my honors coursework, I composed a research paper titled An Analysis of Elements and Symbols Found in Disney’s Tangled (2010) Using Vladimir Propp’s Structural Approach. I took a film that inspires me and compared its elements to those of previous versions of the story of Rapunzel. I studied the history of tropes often found in folktales and applied this knowledge to the evolution of the tropes throughout Rapunzel’s various stories. This paper was written over the course of a semester with the mentorship of one of my professors.
Isometric Bedroom 3D Model
My journey into self-taught 3D computer animation began with completing this Blender tutorial I found on YouTube. At the moment, I’m most interested in models of rooms, so I attempted to create a simple bedroom. I learned how to manipulate shapes such as cubes, spheres, and planes to make models of furniture and decorations. I also spent a lot of time using modifiers to elevate my objects in a non-destructive manner. After modeling I added colors to each object so that my room looked cohesive and then I experimented with staging using cameras and lighting before creating my final render.

Freelance work has led me to make promotional material such as business cards. For this client, I created three designs using brand components such as their logo, brand colors, and contact info. I used Canva for base designs and altered them to fit my needs while I imported elements such as icons from Adobe’s Creative Cloud Libraries into Illustrator to adjust them and brought them back into Canva. I’ve mastered the art of working smarter, not harder, by using multiple programs in conjunction with available resources. With Canva I was able to manage colors across assets to maintain branding and select supplemental artwork. I used Adobe Illustrator to redraw logos to fit my needs such as transparent backgrounds and monochromatic style as well as edit icons to fit my style. I was also able to navigate the artist-client dynamic with careful communication, detailed invoices, and timely service. The client ended up selecting a front and back design from two different designs.
High-Grade Promotional Material
As part of my freelance work, I’ve produced some promotional material for High-Grade Global, a local tutoring service. I created ads that were platform-specific and targeted unique selling points. Some videos were posted on High-Grade’s social media accounts and their website. When producing this promotional content, I kept in mind the USPs, the target audience, and the platform it would be posted on. I used Adobe Photoshop to edit photos, Illustrator to create graphics, After Effects to animate the outros, and Premiere Pro to edit videos. Using masking, sound effects, and color grading, I elevated stock footage and photos from Adobe Stock to develop stories for promotional ads.
My biggest project for the Sunrise Police Department is designing their 2022 Annual Report for printing. Working with the Public Information Officer and Chief of Police, I take assets such as photos and data and create layouts in InDesign to showcase the different units, events, and organizations that are part of the police department. I add text and captions to accompany the photos as well as graphics to make the pages more dynamic. Through this project, I have learned how to participate in feedback, organize my assets, and build a theme of colors, fonts, and layouts that will be a part of the department’s brand identity. I’ve also gotten more familiar with the layout of InDesign such as how to create a productive workspace with accessible tools and how to export content in various ways. I also assisted the Public Information Officer with formatting the 2021 annual report for printing, so I adjusted margins, bleeds, trim lines, and borders using InDesign and Acrobat.

The Law Enforcement Explorer Program is a program offered by the Sunrise Police Department for teens and young adults. I designed this pamphlet in InDesign and it will get sent to be printed so they can be passed out at community events to promote the program. This project gave me the opportunity to work with margins to keep my content within certain borders since everything would be printed on one page, but still needed to align when folded afterward. I also overcame obstacles such as adjusting layers within my photos, graphics, and text groups, and working with the brand guidelines established for the department to create readable text while still having a complex design. While working on this pamphlet, I learned how to use Adobe’s contrast checker for text and background colors, shuffle assets between Illustrator and InDesign, and build my own collection of icons and vectors from Adobe’s stock library.

I took it upon myself to create a seamless carousel for Instagram to accompany the Law Enforcement Explorer Program Pamphlet. These four images, when posted on Instagram, look like one seamless image as you swipe through them. Each image is 1080 x 1080 px and is comprised of photos, text, and graphics that match the brand guidelines of the Sunrise Police Department. I used Illustrator to create these four panels, but I did shuffle assets from InDesign to Illustrator to get the same details that I used in the pamphlet. This unique project gave me a better understanding of the user interface of Instagram as well as how to express the same information in different formats. I enjoyed the challenge of dividing the content into 4 sections while making it flow evenly from one panel to the next.

I made this video as an assignment for my Digital Video Editing class. For this project, I had to use found footage to develop a theme. This video explores my change in mindset from middle and early high school to graduation and early college. I searched through countless shows and movies to find clips that could work toward my story. I screen-recorded my material, cropped them all to the same size as my aspect ratio, and adjusted the audio levels so the volume was consistent. Then I used these clips to build an original story arch. I edited everything in Adobe’s Premiere Pro. This project was a challenge because I had to take clips that had no relation to each other and build an entire storyline while working with footage of different qualities and from different years.

My City
As an assignment for my New Media Narrative class, we had to construct buildings to use in a composition in After Effects. This is an ongoing project where I construct my buildings in Illustrator to give myself the opportunity become more familiar with the tools, especially with bringing assets from Illustrator into After Effects. I started with Siddiqah’s Jail following a tutorial on YouTube. From there I made a similar apartment building as well as a Publix Greenwise inspired by the Greenwise near my school building in Downtown Ft. Lauderdale. I traced an image of the Greenwise logo and used the pen tool to follow it’s curves. I also recreated the Hard Rock Guitar in Hotel in Hollywood after visiting it for the first time a few weeks ago. I created the structure of the building from circles connected by curves and then added various pink and purple windows as seen from photos of the hotel at night. I also recreated the Sunrise Dan Pearl Library, a local library that I visit often. Using reference pictures from online, I made the building’s main structures and then added details such as the teal accents, brickwork, and lettering. I learned how to group objects, divide paths, and duplicate elements to maximize productivity. I also used the opacity feature to recreate window glares, the pen tool to make curves, and color palettes to design buildings that are pleasing to look at but still replicate the life-size buildings.
I created a portrait of one of my favorite artists, Shawn Mendes, using concentric circles. I created my own compass from cardstock to get circles big enough and I used Micron pens to shade in certain areas on the lines to create his face. I recorded this process to make a video where I also learned how to use many elements of Adobe’s Premiere Pro such as timeline placement, color grading, and masking.
Shawn Mendes Portrait
This is my first short film where I decided to show the difficult journey I experienced being a college student looking for employment in a creative field. I had the opportunity to play many roles while producing this film such as scriptwriter, camera man, actor, and editor. I wanted to capture the ugly emotions I felt when I was struggling to find employment after quitting my job in retail, not to mention during a time with so much uncertainty. This was the final product of my Video Production course where I learned a lot about all of the stages of production as well as the basics of using a camera.
